a-leaf @ Imperial Festival!

| May 22, 2017

During the weekend of May 6-7th 2017, the Imperial Festival was back again this year to showcase the best of science, at the South Kensington Campus. Throughout the weekend, Imperial College invites the general public at its doorstep to find out more about the research and work developed at the university, with the aim of encouraging public engagement in science and technology. As every year, together with other groups working with solar energy at Imperial, the James Durrant group took this opportunity to show the visitors the importance of solar energy, in particular why solar fuels are key for a sustainable future based on solar energy. We demonstrated the need for solar energy storage to the general public, and introduced them to artificial photosynthesis through various public friendly experiments. Overall, the prospect of a future based on solar energy gathered a lot of excitement and enthusiasm amongst the public and we received a lot of positive response from our audience regarding all these possibilities and new ideas.
